The Clearwater Downtown Partnership, in the category of Business Sustainability, has nominated Dawn Shannon’s Intuition Salon & Spa for a Momentum Award as part of their 8th annual event being held on May 19th from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at the Capitol Theater.
Clearwater, FL, May 19th, 2015 – Dawn Shannon opened her first salon in downtown Clearwater in 2003 and has been an active part of helping to revitalize the Cleveland Street District ever since.
“I think revitalizing our downtown is really important, both for the City of Clearwater and Pinellas County”, Shannon said. “Small business is still the lifeblood of America and it’s a lot more fun to work in a thriving area with many other local business owners all doing well.”
Having moved from a 500 square foot salon into her current spacious location on Fort Harrison Avenue, Dawn Shannon’s Intuition Salon & Spa has continued to grow and has now opened a second location in St. Petersburg.
When asked if she intends to continue her expansion, Shannon replied, “Our second location opened almost two years ago and is already doing quite well, so of course we are considering opening even more locations in the near future. When you have an amazing product, excellent customer service and really try to help the entire community, naturally it will catch on and grow and so be able to service even more people over a larger area.”
The Clearwater Downtown Partnership (CDP) Momentum Awards acknowledge businesses, organizations, individuals, and projects that have made significant contributions toward creating a unique, vibrant and diverse downtown with lasting, positive impacts on the community. These awards have become an area-wide recognized event of downtown Clearwater achievement. Past award winners have included:
- Water’s Edge Condominium won the KnowBE4 Best Marketing Plan
- RCS Food Bank won the Humanitarian of the year
- Clearwater Marine Aquarium won the Outstanding New Business Award
- Tony’s Pizzeria and Ristorante won the Business Sustainability Award
This years event is being held on at the Capitol Theater with a reception from 5:30pm until 6:30pm and the awards ceremony following. Complimentary valet parking is available. The keynote speaker is Rick Homans, President & CEO of Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation.
